The Toast Rack is an existing collection of Grade 2 listed buildings on a 4-acre site in the heart of Fallowfield, Manchester. Generation obtained planning for 210 residential one, two, three and four-bed units; 20,000 square feet of Gym and Leisure space; 7,000 square feet of retail with associated co-working spaces for residents and the public alike and a full 24-hour concierge service.
Situated fronting the main Wilmslow Road, one of the busiest commuter routes in Manchester, the new landmark building at the front of the site signposts the development and was conceived as an acknowledgement to the radical, innovative and progressive attitude of the original designers of the Toast Rack itself and a way to ensure these unique buildings are continued to be used and enjoyed well into the future by the residents and visitors to Manchester.
The individual apartments within the scheme are large, generously sized apartments with facilities that are usually only found in the high-end city centre schemes. The best of both worlds in a quiet suburb within a gated development and 24-hour concierge services should give any resident a highly enjoyable experience.
Generation’s role was to identify the opportunity, consider various options and feasibilities and obtain planning for the selected proposal before moving on to branding, delivering and marketing of the development to provide a complete turn-key solution for the client.
